Formed in Lincoln, Nebraska, Pendragon Robotics has been a dominant influence in the hobby robotics market since 2004. Founded by Dr. Jay Ragsdale (A.K.A. Dr. Robot Jay,) Pendragon Robotics entered the commercial market with the initial intention of financing their competitive robot team. The company quickly gained notoreity as a developer of robot kits for their fellow roboteers.

In the fall of 2006, Dr. Robot Jay discovered an open-source project called the OpenServo. The OpenServo is a project started by Silicon Valley software wizard, Mike Thompson. The project was started in an attempt to bring high-end digital servos at low cost to the average hobbyist. The U.K.'s top embedded microcomputing designer, Barry Carter, brought the project to unforseen heights. After reveiwing the project's solid designs, Pendragon Robotics became the first full-scale manufacturer of the OpenServo.

From their humble beginnings as a robotics team, to their present day world-wide renown as the leader in do-it-yourself robotics, Pendragon Robotics continues to serve the needs of their fellow robot enthusiasts.
